We seek an Electrical Designer for Power Transformers who will be able to demonstrate knowledge in Hitachi Energy Turkey Elektrik San A.Ş., in Kartal (and future new Dilovası, Kocaeli plant), Istanbul, with the following qualifications:

Your background

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Min. 5 years of related work experience in the design of power transformers
  • Knowledge of local and international electrical (IEEE/IEC) standards
  • Knowledge of transformer accessories such as buchholz relay, pressure relief valve, e-devices, and digital equipment
  • Experience with site work visits in the relevant area
  • Very good command of written and spoken Turkish & English
  • Analytical mind with strong planning and self-learning skills, teamwork & result-oriented
  • Target-oriented, able to communicate effectively
  • Personal leadership and good communication skills
  • Completed military service for male applicants
  • Available for international travels
  • Adapt to changing technology, present proposals, and foster new concepts and approaches
  • Candidate must already have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in Turkey

Your responsibilities

  • Be part of a Design and Engineering Team for Power Transformers, providing technical support and cooperating closely with foreign design teams.
  • Coordinate between the workshop and other factory design teams as a contact person.
  • Comply with the Functional Competency Assessment program to ensure required competencies meet Hitachi Energy’s strategic plan.
  • Run and lead Hitachi Energy-based projects, such as Design to Value (DtV), and participate in the continuous improvement of the design process.
  • Develop power transformer designs, including insulation systems, cooling, and short-circuit withstand, and prepare relevant documentation for customer approval and manufacturing.
  • Make necessary updates to designs based on standards.
  • Select proper components and devices, and prepare details needed for purchasing.
  • Prepare design review documents and participate in technical meetings with customers.
  • Support and collaborate with colleagues at Local Engineering Team and Global Engineering members.
  • Follow up on the manufacturing of approved designs and customer service.
  • Participate in tests and failure activities at the factory.
  • Train and support junior electrical designers.
  • Plan, conduct, coordinate, and develop recommendations using advanced engineering concepts and processes.
  • Negotiate significant matters with customers that may impact current and future business.
  • Analyze new proposals, requirements, specifications, and products.
  • Find creative ways to tailor complex solutions for business and customer needs.
  • Provide cost-effective quality solutions for customer requirements.
  • Make technical judgments in unique problems considering multiple aspects.
  • Live core values of safety and integrity.
  • Business trips for customer support, design training, field support, etc.
