Supplier Management Engineers play a key role in managing the supply chain process between suppliers and Ford Otosan by:
- Ensuring uninterrupted material flow by providing the necessary coordination between Ford Otosan and the suppliers. In case of a failure at the supplier that may affect production, conducting on-site inspections and ensuring the implementation of temporary and permanent measures.
- Recording production reports and conducting root cause analysis of line stoppages and vehicles produced with missing parts due to sequential material shipment suppliers.
- Being familiar with the production capacities of sequential material shipment suppliers and ensuring balanced production with Ford Otosan lines.
- Identifying supplier-related problems that may cause supply disruption, creating action plans and measures, and ensuring coordination with relevant departments.
- Visiting suppliers when necessary regarding supplier problems, creating and following action plans.
- Analyzing the risks in Tier 1 suppliers affected by regional or global risks for sequential material shipment suppliers and creating plans to eliminate supply disruptions between Tier 1 and the main sequential material shipment supplier.
- Monitoring the anticipated supplier risks situation, planning and implementing preventive measures against these risks in line with the company strategies.
- Communicating with suppliers in case of temporary production increase or production mix changes and creating and following joint action plans with the relevant departments and suppliers.
- Communicating with suppliers who are reported to have a chronic balance to ship by Material Logistics, closely following up with the suppliers until the problem is solved, minimizing the effect of the balance on production, and coordinating with the relevant departments.
- Preventing supplier-related production losses and following up with 8D if production loss is in place.
- Creating Emergency Action Plans in critical suppliers during periods such as Christmas or Shutdown due to regional and periodic differences.
- Supporting development projects to increase traceability in the supply chain.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer, or Automotive Engineer.
- Preferably, 3-5 years of experience.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and high individual motivation.
- Open to innovations and learning, high persuasion skills.
- Responsible, creative, and dynamic teamwork.
- C1 level of English.
- No restriction for traveling.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office applications.
