Mid-level Associate Banking

Our client, a magic circle law firm, is seeking a mid-level Associate to join the Banking team of their Istanbul office.

We are looking for an English or Common Law Qualified Banking Associate who would sit in the English law practice. This team advises on a wide variety of financing transactions, including general lending, project finance, acquisition finance and debt restructuring, across Turkey, the Middle East and CIS. The role involves working closely with the Istanbul-based partners as well as an opportunity to work with other partners across the firms' network.

The office itself has a mix of Turkish nationals and expats so English is spoken widely in the office.

Key Requirements

1. English or common law qualified banking lawyer with experience working on cross border financing transactions
2. The role is for a mid-level associate although more senior/junior candidates with an interest in Turkey are also encouraged to apply
3. Outstanding academic credentials
4. Resilient self-starter with intellectual curiosity and versatility
5. Entrepreneurial drive
6. Excellent client relationship skills
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels and particularly to win the respect of the partner and fee-earner community, building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
