What you do
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Finance Director to join Allianz Partners in a newly created role as Finance Director - Asia. As the Finance Director - Asia, you will have a broad remit across the finance function, wider organization, and region, having ultimate accountability over our internal and external reporting deliverables as well as the overall financial health of the Asia region. Within the region, you will oversee financial matters of several legal entities in different countries (China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Middle East countries). Working closely with the leads of the wider finance function, i.e., Accounting & Reporting, Planning & Controlling, and the Finance Centre of Excellence, you will play a pivotal role in driving the ongoing transformation activities across the region. You will act as a Finance business partner, collaborating closely with the lines of business, including sales, underwriting, and actuarial while supporting the Regional Managing Director in the successful execution of the overarching strategy.
Your main responsibilities
- Supporting the Asia Managing Director in the delivery of the region's ambitious growth targets by developing and executing the strategic direction;
- Ultimate accountability for the monthly and quarterly financial closing governance, heavily supported by the sub-regional finance teams;
- Collaborate closely with underwriting, sales, and the line of business teams to secure the financial health of the region, ensuring profitable growth across all segments;
- Drive the Group Finance strategy across the region, supporting the transformation activities across all aspects;
- Ensure smooth and efficient collaboration with external bodies, such as external auditors, regulators, or tax administrations;
- Lead the "OneTeam" culture across the Asia finance teams, lead by example and drive excellence across the wider region.
What you bring- 2-3 years' experience of operating at a Finance Director level, ideally in an international/matrix environment;
- Strong commercial business partnering capabilities and experience;
- Pro-active and not afraid to challenge the status quo;
- Professional approach and delivery of work product;
- Energy, enthusiasm, persistence, and adaptability;
- Ability to influence and lead others;
- Focus on timely delivery of quality outputs;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills;
- Fluent English; any regional languages would be a plus;
- Positive energy and can-do attitude in a global organization.
