Responsibilities:

• Safety Management and Compliance:
  Develop and implement workplace safety policies in line with government regulations and organizational standards. Ensure adherence to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) legislations through audits, inspections, and risk assessments, while liaising with regulatory authorities for compliance.
• Risk Assessment and Hazard Management:
  Supervise risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for operational activities. Work with project teams to ensure safety practices and risk assessments are conducted before new projects. Establish hazard identification and reporting systems for staff and contractors.
• Incident Investigation and Reporting:
  Lead investigations into workplace incidents, near-misses, and safety-related complaints, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions. Report incidents and occupational diseases as required by authorities and implement preventive measures.
• Training and Development:
  Design and deliver safety training programs to enhance employee awareness of protocols and emergency procedures. Organize ongoing safety workshops and drills, and update training materials to ensure compliance with the latest WSH standards.
• Continuous Improvement and Safety Culture:
  Promote a safety-conscious culture by encouraging personal responsibility for safety. Drive continuous improvement by analyzing safety data, identifying trends, and integrating WSH considerations into operational decisions.
• Emergency Preparedness and Response:
  Oversee the development and execution of emergency preparedness plans, including fire safety and evacuation protocols. Regularly update response plans and conduct drills to assess readiness.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) certification is required.
• Additional certifications (e.g., Fire Safety Manager, ISO Lead Auditor) are advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in workplace safety and health, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
