Workplace Safety and Health Officer

Responsibilities:

• Assist sites to implement site safety plans
• Ensure that the provisions of WSQ legal and other requirements are adhered to and to implement and promote WSQ Program
• Liaise with MOM on safety issues, application of factory permits and other safety statutory requirements to ensure site compliance
• Advise and assist the Project Manager to identify and assess any foreseeable risk arising from the workplace or work processes
• Advise and recommend measures to the Project Manager to eliminate any foreseeable risk to any person at the workplace
• Develop safe work procedures to control the identified risks at the workplace
• Perform safety audits on sites
• Investigate all incidents which occurred and recommend appropriate safety measures to prevent their reoccurrence
• Investigate injuries and report accordingly
• Monitor corrective and preventive actions taken by relevant parties to address non-conformities
• Ensure all health and safety policies/WSQ Operational Control procedures are followed strictly by the project workforce/sub-contractors

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related disciplines
• Registered with MOM as WSHO
• MOM Recognized Certificates in Workplace Safety and Health
• Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in construction projects (especially pilling or other related foundation works)
• Class 3 driving license preferred as a requirement to be visiting site
• Ability to start work immediately or with short notice preferred
