We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Wholesale Chief Administrative Officer.
Principal Responsibilities
The role will report to Director, Wholesale Singapore, supporting both Wholesale COO and Commercial and Global Banking Businesses. The role holder will play a key part in our engagement with the lines of business (CMB & GB) and will oversee the delivery of strategic initiatives, financial and workforce management, key regulatory reporting and monitoring, data quality and governance, service performance and streamlining, as well as people agenda.
The role holder will be responsible for a range of CAO activities across the following areas:
- Formulate and drive the implementation of the WCOO strategy – this is a broad agenda but will typically include workforce planning and financial management & reporting. Providing framework for robust financial planning, management, tracking and reporting on Wholesale COO Direct costs including monthly forecast submissions and the FRP. Managing and escalating risks to delivery plans for timely attention of senior management.
- Formulation of Objectives and Key Results, business plan and initiatives that drive sustainable revenue growth, superior customer experience and team satisfaction & wellbeing.
- Assume responsibility for timely reporting to senior management and/or regulatory agencies. This includes contribution to executive and management committees covering Wholesale COO and Lines of Business.
- Drive initiatives and ensure timely reporting relating to data quality and governance for the Lines of Business, including escalation & mitigation of data risks.
- Assess data sharing requests & requirements on behalf of the Lines of Business, ensuring local regulations are strictly adhered to.
- Drive environment of continuous improvement and deliver actionable insights to inform decision making across cost, people, internal services, and customer experience.
- Provide executive level updates to provide accurate, timely and insightful analysis of the progress of Wholesale Banking programmes and workstreams, and impact on the business where necessary.
- Drive and maintain oversight of third-party management and outsourcing activities for the Lines of Business.
- Collaborate with colleagues to drive process improvement and create efficiencies for Wholesale COO and Lines of Business teams.
- Providing ad-hoc input into management presentations or leading presentations to the Wholesale COO and Lines of Business teams.
- Deploy effective management of WCOO headcount and promote efficient organization design through Wholesale businesses productivity insights and enable people to be at their best through a focus on the people agenda.
- Champion the people resource and talent management process for business together with Human Resources.
- The role holder should be self-motivated, highly driven and task oriented, as well as having the ability to lead a diverse team. The role holder should also be prepared to work in an agile and flexible way due to the pace of change which the business is experiencing.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience
- Strong understanding of Commercial Banking and Global Banking business, financial services landscape and regulatory developments.
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior business and functional stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and be flexible in both mindset and approach; often having to adapt at short notice.
- Proven ability to challenge constructively and effect change.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in leading an effective team is highly desired.
- A knowledge of sound financial principles incl. savings and FTE calculations to ensure financial reporting is accurate and well-governed is desired.
- Familiarity with Finance Systems (e.g. TM1) and a good understanding of Finance Processes for Planning, Forecasting and Intercompany recharges is desired.
