The Cold Room Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the cold storage area of the warehouse. This role ensures that products are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The team lead also supervises a team of warehouse associates, ensuring high performance and adherence to procedures in a cold room environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Inventory Management:
    • Lead a team of warehouse staff to perform daily warehousing operations.
    • Ensure all incoming goods are in good condition and of correct quantity.
    • Plan, track, and manage inventory levels to ensure a healthy stock for business operations and production requirements.
    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the cold room warehouse, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of frozen seafood products.
    • Implement effective FIFO systems and manage expiry dates to minimize waste.
    • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock checks to prevent shortages or overstocking.
    • Generate and analyze weekly reports on inventory status and movement for different business segments.
    • Lead and train warehouse staff in best practices for handling perishable goods, including temperature control and hygiene standards.
  2. Operations Support:
    • Coordinate and manage logistics for cold storage warehousing, external storage facilities, pick-and-pack operations, and shipment logistics.
    • Ensure general housekeeping and safety/equipment in the warehouse are up to performance standards.
    • Ensure seamless integration between procurement, inventory, and production schedules for efficient operations.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of product pricing, traceability, and quality control checks.
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and sales, to optimize inventory levels and meet customer demand.
  3. Compliance & Documentation:
    • Conduct regular stock audits, reconciliations, and cold storage management.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines.
    • Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits and ensure readiness for yearly certifications.
    • Implement and enforce proper handling and storage procedures to maintain product freshness and quality.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or NITEC in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Operations, or related field.
  • Min. 2 – 3 years of experience in warehousing, inventory management, and operations.
  • Familiarity with cold storage and food industry regulations (ISO, HACCP).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and inventory management systems.
