VP, Data and AI Risk- Compliance Validation, Risk Management Group

Business Function
Risk Management Group (RMG) is responsible for the development and maintenance of risk management and internal control frameworks. We provide independent review and challenge to the business to ensure that appropriate balance is considered in risk/return decisions. In addition, RMG is responsible for the monitoring and reporting on key risk issues of the Bank. To manage risk effectively and deliver strong financial performance, we invest significantly in people and infrastructure.

The role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end validation process for the BCBS 239 (Basel's Principles for effective risk data aggregation and reporting) compliance validation programme. In addition, this role will also be involved in formulating and operationalising Data and AI Line 2 Risk Governance Processes.

Responsibilities

• Design the validation testing processes and procedures for BCBS 239 compliance validation
• Lead validation testing activities and manage the validation workflow
• Guide junior team members in their tasks
• Form an overall view of the Bank's compliance with BCBS 239
• Maintain an efficient and auditable database of validation records and evidence
• Participate in 2nd Line thematic Reviews for Data Management

Compliance Validation

• Ensure effective implementation of BCBS 239 validation testing and procedures and ensure their alignment with the compliance validation methodology
• Maintain the repository of validation test questions covering all aspects of BCBS 239
• Plan and perform validation review and testing on the policies and processes of various units in scope
• Initiate engagement process and guide discussions with key stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach in agreeing validation outcomes

Reporting and Monitoring

• Monitor and report the Bank's status of compliance with BCBS 239 and implementation status of remediation actions
• Liaise with stakeholders to track the implementation of remediation plans and outcomes
• Monitor outstanding issues highlighted in validation findings
• Prepare compliance status reports to the Board, Senior Management and/or regulators
• Act as the deputy for the Head of Compliance Validation, where appropriate

Data and AI Risk Management

• Contribute to AI risk governance framework where required
• Contribute to the 2nd Line Data Management Risk Policy set up
• Participate in 2nd Line thematic reviews for Data Management

Requirements

• A degree holder with minimum 10 years' working experience in a role within risk management, audit, data management or compliance.
• Ability to apply risk and control principles during process reviews in a banking environment. High attention to details with the ability to understand and map end-to-end process flows.
• Working experience with data management / data governance related responsibilities. Good understanding of data management principles, including controls and governance
• Experience in formal report writing.
• Good analytical skills, attention to details and have sound judgment
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
• Team player with good inter-personal and communication skills, and the ability to work with multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
