About the Department
The Wholesale Bank function operates a dynamic business model that provides financial services and solutions to help our clients achieve their strategic business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Formulate and strengthen governance on all risk frameworks, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, including Anti-Money Laundering.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify priority areas for review based on control criticality, emerging risks, and regulatory focus.
  • Provide effective challenge to internal stakeholders on existing controls.
  • Review Business Units policies and guidelines.
  • Work with multiple internal stakeholders to deliver desired outcomes.
  • Identify key emerging risks in GWB and propose risk mitigating measures/controls.
  • Communicate potential risk issues highlighted by various Bank's risk functions within GWB.
  • Coordinate activities with Group Compliance and other internal risk departments.
  • Work with BU/GWB Data Analytics on risk management initiatives.
  • Support Business Units in risk identification, escalation, and remediation.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of Business Units controls.
  • Prepare risk management reports.
  • Provide guidance to BRCMs in overseas locations on Group's risk management initiatives.
  • Articulate and present to senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Keep GWB informed of the latest developments on risk and regulatory fronts.
  • Conduct training where necessary.

Job Requirements

  • Degree or professional qualification in business or banking/financial services.
  • Certification in regulatory compliance and/or anti-financial crimes is a must.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience, preferably in audit or regulatory compliance in corporate banking/wholesale banking.
  • Excellent knowledge of Singapore's regulations, particularly on anti-financial crimes.
  • Proven experience in regulatory compliance in a financial services institution.
  • Prior experience in risk/controls design and assessment.
  • Prior experience in the regulatory framework of the South East Asia region is preferred.
  • Project and change management experience would be an advantage.
  • Data management and data analytics experience is preferred.
  • Ability to write macros on Microsoft Excel or basic programming skills is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player, self-driven with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Resourceful, meticulous, analytical, and able to work independently.
  • Growth mindset, openness to learn and take on other risks types.
