Reporting to the Head of Legal & Compliance, you will provide legal and regulatory advice in relation to regulated activities conducted in the Bank and will ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements as well as internal compliance/ ethical standards.
You will provide legal advice on banking operations, draft and review various agreements, and liaise with external legal counsel to ensure that legal risks are well managed. Based in Singapore, as a member of the Singapore Legal team, you will deal with legal and compliance issues of various business lines, including licensing-related issues and regulatory reporting. You will provide legal advice on Singapore laws and regulations in relation to ongoing operations for the Bank, including but not limited to MAS legislation and regulations, the Banking Act, Companies Act, Securities and Futures Act, Personal Data Protection Act, and related regulations. You will also provide legal advice and support on credit and security matters and issues.
You will review and update various bank documents, draft and review agreements (whether internally, with clients, or third parties), as well as marketing materials or offer documents. You will closely monitor legal and regulatory developments to provide legal and regulatory advice and ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements. You will advise and manage new/special projects (new business offerings or initiatives, products or services, legal developments, and regulatory changes), new/revised Group directives, and draft attendant service level agreements, policies, and procedures.
You will develop, implement, and monitor procedures and standards related to the legal function, including updating legal policies and procedures in accordance with legal and regulatory developments and internal Group guidelines/policies. You will manage internal stakeholders and maintain key internal relationships to foster a positive culture through communications and training, providing staff with timely and pragmatic advice on day-to-day business issues. You will handle corporate secretariat matters for the Bank and conduct training on legal documentation as well as legal issues for employees.
