The Secretariat department supports the boards of UOB and its Singapore subsidiaries in the discharge of their responsibilities and provides advice on governance matters. It also facilitates communication between the non-executive directors and senior management and manages the induction and professional development programme for directors.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role and contribute to all the important elements that are vital to the running of a multi-national organization, and be a trusted board advisor who can meet the challenges of a fast changing environment and support the Bank in its strategic objectives.
This role will report to the Head of Group Legal & Secretariat, and will interact with senior stakeholders within the Bank and its Board of Directors.
The officer will have the following responsibilities:
i) a qualified person under the Legal Profession Act (Cap. 161);
ii) a public accountant;
iii) a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (formerly known as the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore);
iv) a member of the Chartered Secretaries Institute of Singapore;
v) a member of the Association of International Accountants (Singapore Branch); or
vi) a member of The Institute of Company Accountants, Singapore.
