We are looking for a VP, Financial Institutions to join the team in Singapore. This role will be an integral member of the Retail Sales team based in Singapore, with SEA coverage. He/she is expected to execute the retail sales strategy and possess a solid understanding of the investment products, sales, business development and service needs of SEA retail business. The primary focus is to establish, grow and maintain good working relationships with the organisation's distribution partners, and be responsible for positioning our investment products through them. Relationships with distribution partners will be developed and grown through proactive sales presentations, regular visits and sales calls and the communication of value-added information.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?

  • Cultivate and deepen relationships with existing distributors and identify potential distribution partners with the aim of increasing FT market share
  • Prioritise appropriately to focus efforts on most promising opportunities for medium and long-term business growth
  • Deliver AUM and sales targets within specified channels and clients, focusing on consumer banks
  • Monitor on an ongoing basis relevant client structure, investment objectives, benchmarks, progress and holdings
  • Provide market intelligence to help guide regional strategy, current product enhancement efforts, as well as new product initiatives
  • Work in close partnership with FT teams to deliver high quality service experience to clients
  • Coordinate with appropriate teams to ensure expedient and accurate resolution of all client inquiries
  • Execute sales ideas, build and deliver sales presentations that complement specific advisor/distributor business profiles
  • Run sales campaigns and seek opportunities in new markets, new channels and new lines of business within existing clients
  • Work closely with Retail Sales team members with the common goal of growing the retail distribution footprint
  • Handle RFPs/ Annual DD/ Query Handling
  • Partner with Marketing and Corporate Communications to generate ideas on the production of marketing materials and promote FT branding in media space
  • Monitor assigned asset classes and competitor landscape in order to position FT products in the best possible light

What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a finance related discipline
  • 8 - 15 years' equivalent sales experience in the asset management and/or financial industry
  • A proven track record in business development and sales in funds management/financial industry
  • Strong knowledge of financial services industry, funds management strategies and key competitors/retail market players
  • Established relationships with key retail distribution and research partners
  • Team player
  • Possess relationship management skills and experience - consultative and strategic selling skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High levels of personal and professional integrity to develop deep relationships
  • Deep knowledge of the structure of retail channels and clients in Singapore/SEA, ability to recognise decision makers and internal relationships within institutions
  • Understanding of processes and platforms in the retail business model
  • Ability to deliver strong sales presentations
  • Excellent in-person presentation skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced, team environment
