Job description

The Visual Content Specialist is part of the Admissions & MarComms team at Stamford American International School and will be responsible for designing the visual identity and creating the visual language of the Stamford American brand and supporting the marketing and communications department. Responsible for visual content creation across all channels. Overseeing photography and videography, from conception to delivery.

This role will support the Head of Marketing and Communications in charge of photography, videography and other visual content creation.

The job holder’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young person’s for whom they are responsible, or with whom they come into contact will be to adhere to and ensure compliance with the relevant Cognita Safeguarding; Child Protection Policy and Procedures at all times.

Content Creation

  • Produces high-quality photos, videos, infographics, and other visual assets for websites, social media, internal communication, and marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborates with marketing, design, and communication teams to ensure visual consistency across platforms.
  • Captures video footage using professional equipment, edits video content, and may be involved in scripting or storyboarding.
  • Takes high-quality photographs that meet the school's visual needs. This includes portraits, school photography, event coverage, and more.

Editing and Optimization

  • Edits photos and videos using tools like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and similar software.
  • Optimizes visual content for different platforms (e.g., resizing, compressing for web use, color correction).

Brand Alignment:

  • Ensures that all visual materials align with the school's branding guidelines.
  • Works with the Head of Marketing and Communications and Director of Admissions and Marketing to maintain a consistent brand image.

Project Management

  • Manages visual content projects, including coordination with external agencies or freelancers if necessary.

Administration

  • Manages asset library, including photos and video and parents consent management.

Position Requirements

  • Possesses a mix of technical, creative, and professional skills, along with a keen understanding of visual storytelling and branding.
  • Creative individual with strong aesthetic sense and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time well and communicate with the larger community.
  • Ability to translate ideas, stories, or brand messages into visually compelling content.
  • Excellent storytelling skills to create narratives through visual media.
  • Knowledge of typography, color theory, and layout design.
  • Ability to work together in a team, open for feedback, eager to learn and always striving to improve.

Qualifications

  • Possesses relevant qualification Diploma/Bachelor Degrees in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Marketing or other relevant qualifications.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in photography and videography.
  • Proficient in design software and video editing software.
  • Possesses technical skills in graphic design, video editing, animation and motion graphics.

Working Conditions

  • Extended working hours to complete some projects may be required.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work.

Terms of Employment

  • Working Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Annual Leave: 21 working days.
  • Medical Benefits: Medical insurance provided where applicable.
  • Sick Leave/Hosp: 14 days sick leave and 60 days hospitalization leave (including sick leave).
  • Probation Period: 3 months from date of commencement.
  • Referee request: Required.
  • Background Check: Required.
