Your day at NTT DATA

This is a pivotal new role envisioned in NTT Data Inc, which is formed by integrating operating companies within NTT Group to create a global full-stack services company with a range of business and technology services spanning 12 countries, across India, ASEAN, North Asia and South Pacific. We are setting up a regional Portfolio Management Office function in the APAC region to establish a carefully curated portfolio in our targeted verticals such as automotive, discrete manufacturing, banking, insurance, retail, healthcare, life sciences, telecom, energy & utilities, and more. The APAC Vice President – Portfolio Management Office will spearhead the alignment and enrichment of our IT solutions portfolio across the entire Asia Pacific region. While the scope is “full-stack” the centre of gravity is applications & data solutions - systems of record, systems of engagement/automation, systems of insights – each with full lifecycle services. This person will lead a team of members drawn from relevant functions representing the “demand” and “supply” sides of the business, fostering a collaborative environment with several internal and external organizations to achieve targeted portfolio outcomes. This role will take proposals on offer enrichment to the APAC Portfolio Review Board, get the plans approved, and report on the progress during execution. The role also requires collaboration with external agencies such as market analysts, consultants, key clients and strategic partners.

What you'll be doing

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including country and sales Leaders, solution unit leaders, and internal communities of experts.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research, leveraging analyst reports and industry trends to identify key opportunities for IT solution adoption across the Asia Pacific region.
  • Regular competitive benchmarking of IT solutions to understand the right price points and value propositions expected in the markets.
  • An appreciation of the regulatory mandates of industry verticals related to data residency and data management.
  • Foster strategic partnerships with country and sales Leaders throughout the region, to gain a deep understanding of their needs for vertical IT solutions.
  • Prioritize industry verticals where our portfolio necessitates enrichment, pinpointing specific solutions requiring enhancement.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with internal expert communities, including enterprise architects and marketing teams, to refine and optimize IT solution offerings.
  • Partner with solution units to meticulously detail offer enrichment programs, plan, and execute these initiatives.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with various business support functions to prepare for the successful launch of enriched IT solutions.
  • Partner with the learning & development team to empower sales, presales, and delivery personnel, ensuring successful solution adoption by our customers.
  • Oversee the launch of new IT solutions, ensuring coordinated marketing and sales efforts for optimal market impact.
  • Implement robust tracking and analysis methodologies for the market adoption of enriched solutions, measuring success and return on investment.
  • Quality assurance of deliverables from the pan-NTT team, and step-in as needed to address issues related to delays or quality.
  • Set goals for the portfolio management office team, conduct regular performance reviews and provide guidance for building a world-class portfolio for verticals.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Knowledge of portfolio management best practices – such as agile methodologies, competitive and partner analyses, client needs and wants definition.
  • Expertise in industry value chain, client pains & ambitions, and industry best business and IT practices relevant for their client.
  • Sensing market trends – industry business practices and leading-edge technology practices.
  • Ability to understand the company’s existing portfolio and identify opportunities for improving the solution from a regulatory, value, and pricing perspective.
  • Understand the concepts of “mass customization” which is to leverage standard offers but wrapped in an easy-to-customize shell for each client.
  • Value proposition frameworks to highlight the business value and outcome of our offers.
  • Deep understanding of commercial concepts to work towards a target cost and price in solutions.
  • Knowledge of Ready-for-Sales and Ready-for-Delivery best practices; and establish programs for rollout.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or any technology discipline; preferably post-graduation in management.
  • A total experience of 15+ years in an IT service provider organization, with 5+ years of demonstrably successful experience in IT solutions management, or marketing.
  • A track record of success in developing and launching new IT solutions with a focus on achieving optimal market alignment.
  • A comprehensive understanding of IT trends, industry needs, and customer segmentation within the dynamic Asia Pacific region.
  • Understanding of portfolio relevant to our targeted verticals like discrete manufacturing, automotive, banking, insurance, healthcare, retail and others.
  • Appreciation of full-stack solutions – business solutions, applications and data solutions, and IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Exceptional analytical prowess, with the capacity to interpret market data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate and guide a high-performing team.
  • Prior experience working within a multinational environment, with a comprehensive understanding of diverse business cultures across the Asia Pacific region.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships at all levels internally and externally.
