Why this role?

Develop Modernization strategies and goals for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APM – an Area) and drive the implementation together with the countries to develop country specific action plans to achieve short- and long-term business goals. Guide and lead the APM and country teams to develop and execute sales and manage offering within the Area’s modernization business. Execute business development initiatives and improve customer-centricity, competitive position, market share and profitability in each country within the Area. Work closely with other delivery operations teams to ensure profitable growth.

This position will report directly to APM Executive Vice President and drive Modernization, Customer Solutions Engineering and Sustainability.

What will you be doing?

Customers

  • Drive and promote customer-centric culture and outside-in thinking in the modernization business.
  • Capture and feed Voice of Customer throughout the modernization business.
  • Observe the trend and anticipate future needs and wants of customers/industry.

Business performance

  • Understand the current and future opportunities for the modernization business in APM.
  • Evaluate the results of modernization business activities/contracts and identify recurring problems.
  • Set up Area level management practices that drive key business initiatives like growth, pricing and pre-to-post performance.
  • Prepare recommendations and feedback about significant changes that need to be made to product portfolio and KONE Way operating model elements (i.e., processes, roles, organization, IT tools, data, governance, business performance management) to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with the Unit Managing Directors and Modernization Directors to develop and achieve targets across the Area geographies.
  • Set Area level targets together with Senior Leadership team, help in developing robust Unit budget plans, continuously monitor financial performance and report results.

Business development

  • Lead the team to drive the modernization sales and offering development and go-to-market actions of new services and solutions in collaboration with other business line stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Frontlines, Area and Global colleagues for best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with modernization business operating model and effective deployment of KONE Way initiatives.

Leadership / People management

  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the executive level to develop and implement a strategy for modernization business that is aligned with the organization’s overall vision and its current and long-term business objectives.
  • Lead, evaluate, and develop the modernization team and its professionals at Area and country level.
  • Identify competence gaps and training needs in order to fulfill the business plan.
