Job Overview:
This executive-level role will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, strategy, and long-term financial planning. As VP of Finance, you will play a key role in driving business growth through financial leadership, analysis, and planning. You will also ensure financial compliance, maintain financial health, and guide the company’s decision-making process across multiple regions, including our subsidiaries in Kuala Lumpur and Beijing.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Leadership:
Lead the overall financial strategy for the company, ensuring alignment with business objectives and sustainability goals.
Develop and execute financial plans, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring they are well-aligned with company priorities.
Provide strategic insights to the CEO and senior leadership team to support decision-making and business expansion plans.
Identify financial risks and opportunities, advising on how to mitigate risks and capitalize on growth opportunities.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, local regulations).
Ensure compliance with local and international tax laws, including corporate tax, VAT/GST, and other relevant regulations.
Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure audit compliance and regulatory requirements are met.
Cross-Regional Financial Management:
Lead and collaborate with finance teams in subsidiaries in Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, and other international locations to ensure smooth financial operations and consistent reporting across regions.
Oversee financial consolidation and reporting for multiple entities and currencies, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Act as the key point of contact between the Singapore head office and international subsidiaries on financial matters.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
Direct the preparation of detailed financial forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis to monitor performance, track KPIs, and recommend improvements to optimize cost-efficiency and profitability.
Drive initiatives to improve cash flow management, working capital optimization, and cost reduction.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting professional growth.
Develop training programs and succession planning to build finance talent across the company.
Ensure the finance team adheres to best practices in financial reporting and internal controls.
Strategic Partnerships & Stakeholder Management:
Work closely with investors, board members, and other key stakeholders to provide financial updates, insights, and strategic recommendations.
Assist in fundraising activities, including managing relationships with potential investors or financial institutions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent certification is required).
At least 8-10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role (Finance Manager, Finance Director, or similar).
Extensive experience in financial strategy, planning, and analysis in a multinational or regional context.
Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS), financial reporting, tax regulations, and compliance.
Proven track record of managing and leading finance teams and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience in financial reporting for international subsidiaries, managing multi-currency consolidations, and working with different tax jurisdictions.
Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and carbon calculation is a plus.
Strong business acumen and the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Advanced proficiency in financial software (ERP systems, Excel, financial modelling).
Experience in fundraising, including managing investor relations or preparing pitch materials.
