Collaborate with internal and external ICT providers/vendors to manage and support vessel IT systems effectively.
Address and resolve vessel IT operational issues proactively while sharing technical expertise in broader vessel IT projects.
Ensure the stability and availability of vessel IT equipment, services, and satellite communications to maintain business continuity.
Deliver IT support and ensure quality service across all vessels.
Under the guidance of the Fleet IT Manager, conduct thorough assessments of systems, applications, and processes to identify cybersecurity risks and control gaps.
Communicate openly with the Fleet IT Manager to implement updated cybersecurity methods and policies.
Install, test, maintain, and support onboard hardware and software applications.
Manage fleet databases by updating and maintaining relevant documentation and system logs to ensure accuracy and currency.
Requirements:
Diploma in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical or Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in networking and experience with firewall and managed switch configuration.
Familiarity with Windows Server Administration, VMware, and virtualization implementation.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, delivering high-quality results within deadlines.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, backed by sound reasoning and judgment.
Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills to establish credibility and demonstrate expertise.
Willingness to work extended hours and travel as needed.
Practical experience in vessel IT application management, database management, cybersecurity, incident management, and satellite communication equipment (e.g., VSAT, L-Band, LEO) is an advantage but not mandatory.
