Venture Investment & Business Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Venture Investment & Business Development Specialist to join a reputable ship owning company. This position offers the opportunity to drive innovation and sustainability within the maritime and energy sectors. The role is focused on both scouting and collaborating with startups to identify investment opportunities and supporting the development of decarbonization projects, particularly in electrification and energy transition initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in scouting and evaluating startups for investment opportunities aligned with sustainability and innovation goals.
2. Support financial modeling, market research, and investment structuring for potential startup investments.
3. Collaborate with startup founders, industry partners, and venture capital networks to explore and develop strategic partnerships.
4. Monitor portfolio companies, fostering collaboration opportunities within the organization.
5. Contribute to the development and execution of electrification and energy transition projects, including energy storage solutions and port decarbonization efforts.
6. Conduct feasibility studies and market research to identify opportunities for energy transition within company assets and operations.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders, such as regulators, energy providers, and technology companies, to develop strong partnerships.
8. Assist in evaluating investments in energy storage technologies (e.g., vanadium flow batteries, microgrid solutions).
9. Help develop business proposals and manage pilot projects related to electrification and low-carbon energy solutions.

Ideal Candidate:

1. min. 3 years of experience in venture capital, corporate investment, or business development in energy transition, maritime, or logistics sectors.
2. Strong analytical skills with experience in financial analysis, investment due diligence, and market research.
3. Knowledge of decarbonization technologies, energy storage systems, and maritime electrification trends will be beneficial.
4. Ability to engage and build relationships with various stakeholders, including startups, regulators, and infrastructure partners.
5. Excellent communication, project management, and strategic thinking skills.
