Job Description

As a Venture Architect (Healthcare) at Graduate Research Innovation Programme (GRIP), you will apply your extensive expertise in healthcare and other sectors to drive the development and growth of high-potential ventures.

Duties and Responsibilities

Startup Incubation

  • Provide hands-on guidance to startup teams participating in GRIP from concept through to launch, focusing on establishing validated problem-solution fit and robust business models.
  • Facilitate sessions to help founders refine their market strategy, articulate unmet needs, and develop a plan to create a scalable venture.
  • Provide practical insights on emerging trends in healthcare and other relevant industries to help teams navigate complex business environments.

Portfolio Management

  • Support founders of GRIP-invested ventures in identifying and evaluating potential healthcare opportunities, including new applications, partnerships, and market segments.
  • Guide startups through the initial phases of their operations, including product development, strategic hiring, marketing, and fundraising.

Partnership and Ecosystem Management

  • Identify and forge strategic partnerships with healthcare ecosystem partners, technology firms, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collaborations with external partners to leverage resources, expertise, and market access.
  • Provide guidance on navigating regulatory requirements and healthcare compliance standards in collaboration with legal and regulatory teams.

Programme Support

  • Engage in outreach activities in scouting for high potential founders, technologies, and projects to build a high-quality pipeline for GRIP.
  • Work closely with other units within the NUS Enterprise ecosystem to foster a unified approach to venture creation.
  • Lead or assist in program-related initiatives to support operations and enhance the impact of GRIP.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in life science, healthcare management, business administration, engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years in healthcare technology sector, including roles in business, venture capital, consulting, or startup. Experience in startup environments is a must.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare systems, regulations, and market dynamics. Familiarity with digital health technologies and trends.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and motivating cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for innovation and entrepreneurship, with a willingness to take calculated risks.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting quickly to changes and challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to ethical practices and integrity in business dealings.
