Your role in the team

UX Researchers are key to the team that ideates, designs, and delivers products. This is a newly created position and contributes significantly to our business objective of building products that respond to client needs. In this standalone position, you will be responsible for providing insights for our clients in Australia, Singapore, and the UAE.

The position reports to a London-based leader, and your colleagues will be specialists like you who work closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to deliver market-leading investment and leverage trading products.

You’ll contribute to a culture of experimentation and iterative development at IG, developing solutions that deliver innovation and help to continuously improve our existing offering.

What you'll do

As a UX Researcher you will:

  • Report into the Divisional CX Manager and work with the divisional product team to plan, design, and conduct research with users to provide robust evidence for making decisions and to support the continuous improvement of our products.
  • Work independently leading execution of our UX research strategy, and working with stakeholders throughout Australia, Singapore & ME regions to help uncover, define, and solve customer problems.
  • Work with colleagues in defining and articulating research goals and user-centric measures of success.
  • Carry out qualitative user research activities as your primary activity from recruiting participants, preparing discussion guides, moderating research sessions, and delivering actionable findings.
  • Carry out quantitative user research as a secondary activity, from preparing and managing client surveys to supporting CX and tech teams with iterative test and learn activities with live clients (e.g., A/B testing, Beta testing).
  • Monitor continuous client feedback and CX along with commercial performance metrics to help identify key client pain points and commercial opportunities.

What you'll need for this role

  • The ability and desire to work independently and own UX Research within the APAC division.
  • Demonstrable experience in using a range of qualitative user research methods to reveal actionable insights.
  • Proven experience owning the usability testing process, from participant recruitment and session facilitation to analysing, documenting, and communicating the resulting insights.
  • Experience of quantitative user research methods and their application.
  • Confidence in recognising assumptions (including your own) and seeking ways to try and invalidate them.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. The ability to speak and write simplified Chinese would be an advantage.

This role would require some flexibility around working hours due to working closely with clients and colleagues across a range of timezones, including with our core Product team based in London.
