What you will be working on:

As a UX Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping user experience strategy, driving best practices, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality user-centered designs. You will lead a team of talented UX designers and researchers across multiple products within a programme, fostering a collaborative and creative environment. Your leadership will be instrumental in aligning UX efforts with government objectives and enhancing the overall user experience of our products.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy

  • Develop and Implement UX Strategy: Define and communicate the UX vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with policy goals and user needs.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure a unified approach to product development.
  • Roadmap Planning: Contribute to product roadmap planning, prioritizing UX initiatives that drive user satisfaction and business success.
  • User Research and Insights: Oversee user research activities to gather insights, ensuring a deep understanding of our users and informing programme strategy and design decisions.

Process Management

  • Establish Best Practices for UX Processes: Develop and refine UX processes to ensure efficiency and consistency in design deliverables.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytics and user feedback to make informed decisions and continuously improve the user experience.
  • Metrics and Measurements: Establish and track UX metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of design solutions.
  • Foster Innovation: Promote a culture of innovation, encouraging the team to explore new ideas and methodologies.

People Management

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of UX designers and researchers, fostering their growth and development.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and address performance gaps.
  • Career Development: Support team members in their career aspirations, providing guidance on skill development and career progression.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments, ensuring a cohesive and collaborative work environment.

What we are looking for

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in UX design, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of UX design, principles, user research methodologies, and data-driven design.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, with excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and align UX efforts with agency objectives.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
