MRTA is about understanding and maintaining our equipment as effectively and efficiently as possible, making sure it performs as intended. The Turnaround discipline covers the development of Turnaround strategies and the planning, coordinating and execution of Turnaround events (including the financial and people aspects and scheduling).

What’s the role?

As a Turnaround Planner, you will be performing the following:

  • Planning and scheduling deliverables for all TA scope in mechanical and civil works to ensure safe & efficient execution of TA activities in accordance with the approved premises, work processes and standards.
  • Preparing, optimizing, updating and maintaining the plan/schedule to efficiently execute scope of work including resource optimization, checking availability of materials, completeness of work packs.
  • Breaking down scope into bite size activities for each area; assigning craft resources and durations; developing BOMs; work packages, initial entry into the scheduling tool and some initial logic ties by the planner.
  • Assembling the activities from various areas or blocks, and projects, complete the logic ties, resource level, and ensure the schedule meets the quality checks in the scheduling premise document.
  • Coordinating with all Shell disciplines, operations/maintenance, engineering, procurement and cost engineering during the planning and execution stage and at all stages of the turnaround work processes to ensure compliance of HSSE, Quality, Duration and Cost Competitiveness targets for the TA Event.

What we need from you

To be a successful Turnaround Planner, you will have the following:

  • Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 8 years relevant field experience as TA Planner or Scheduler and/or equivalent.
  • Preferably with Mechanical Engineering background.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience, mainly technical support in Refinery or Petrochemical Plant. Preferably with some years in Engineering, Projects, Maintenance, Turnaround, or Operation experience.
  • Proven experience coordinating with many TA Planning personnel – TA Managers, Planners, Schedulers, TOC, Contractors & Service Providers.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience and Master level in scheduling using Primavera.
  • Hands-on experience through craft ranks/operations.
