Transport Systems Analyst (Assistant Manager)

Job Purpose

The Transport System Analyst is responsible for implementing transport IT solutions for customers and acting as an IT subject matter expert during business pursuits to understand customer’s IT requirements and develop IT solutions proposals.

• Drive full transport system implementations for the country using DHL strategic IT solutions.
• Develop TMS implementation solution proposals for new business pursuits.
• Promote innovation initiatives through IT implementations and continue to drive improvement for existing operations.
• Apply IT Project Management methodology (DePICT) to IT project activities, ensuring projects are delivered within scope, budget, and timelines.
• Manage BluJay TMS projects, including:
  • Requirements gathering
  • End-to-end process design
  • Gap analysis
  • Preparation of IT business requirements document, application design document, functional specifications
  • System setup & configuration
  • Develop EDI interface specification and reports
  • Testing strategy
  • Cutover plans
  • Training
  • Solution deployment
  • Go-live support
• Provide support for the existing solutions in terms of the following:
  • Provide solutions to address requests or incidents
  • Change development specifications
  • Change system configurations
  • Regression testing
  • Coordinate and manage the existing IT knowledge base, updating work instructions

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent.
• Good understanding of transportation and/or warehouse operational processes and strong analytical skills.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT solution analysis, implementation, and ongoing support, including at least 1 year of TMS implementation experience.
• Experience in BluJay or e2Open TMS implementations is preferred.
• Experienced in Jasper Reports, PL/SQL script development.
• Experience in the implementation of route optimization IT tools will be an added advantage.
• Experienced in business analytical tools such as PowerBI is preferred.
• Possess commercial awareness and effective communication & interpersonal skills.
• Customer-oriented, with the ability to influence and negotiate.
• Self-driven and a self-starter.
