About Us

Metta Welfare Association empowers adults with intellectual disabilities (aged 18 to 55) through residential and day care services at Metta Home for the Disabled and Metta Home Day Activity Centre. Established in 2000, our programs focus on building independence through daily living skills, community engagement, and behavioral management.

Our Hougang and Woodlands DACs provide a structured and supportive environment, offering training and recreational facilities to help our beneficiaries enhance their communication, self-care, and social skills. We serve individuals with conditions such as Down Syndrome, autism, and developmental delays, enabling them to lead more fulfilling lives.

Position: Training Officer
Locations: Hougang & Woodlands (Multiple Vacancies)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure a safe, hygienic, and conducive environment for clients.
  2. Plan, implement, and support approved training programs to develop life skills.
  3. Guide clients in daily living, social interactions, and community integration.
  4. Support clients in acquiring pro-social and behavioral skills.
  5. Conduct continuous assessment of clients’ progress.
  6. Maintain accurate documentation and reports in compliance with Best Practice Guidelines.
  7. Monitor and record significant behaviors and critical incidents.
  8. Work closely with parents/caregivers to support clients’ development.
  9. Engage and supervise volunteers, ensuring their contributions align with our objectives.
  10. Participate actively in team discussions and service improvements.
  11. Plan and implement motivational and behavior management strategies.
  12. Ensure compliance with safety protocols at all times.

Other Responsibilities

  1. Attend Metta events and fundraising activities as needed.
  2. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  1. Preferably experience in disability care or related fields.
  2. Minimum Secondary/N/O levels and/or relevant certifications in disability care.
  3. Ability to work independently and within a team.
  4. Hardworking, meticulous, and responsible.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
