We have a current opportunity for a Trade Exhibition - Operations Manager/Senior Operations Manager on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Singapore. For further information about this position please apply.

Role: Trade Exhibition - Operations Manager/Senior Operations Manager

Location: Singapore

The Operations Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency and improve exhibitor and visitor experiences at every event.

This role requires close collaboration with the Marketing, Special Events, Sales, and Content departments to ensure the successful growth and execution of events. The Operations Manager will also manage budgets and oversee contractors and local event managers.

  2. Emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, 5G, AR/VR/MR, Big Data Analytics, Drones, Robotics, Content Development (Software), Wearables, Cloud Applications, etc.

Overall Responsibilities/Key Accountabilities:

  1. Team Management: Work with team members, vendors, and event managers to support organizational goals.
  2. Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Director and Finance to support budget and periodic forecasts.
  3. Cost Control: Ensure the quality and efficiency of operations by managing budgets, staff, activities, and deliverables. Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to optimize costs while maintaining high standards.
  4. Program Management: Oversee designated programs, ensuring they stay within time limits and budget. Manage paperwork and maintain organization to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  5. Event Evaluation: Conduct evaluations and create reports before and after events; suggest improvements to enhance event quality and success.
  6. Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and productivity while reducing costs.
  7. Activity Monitoring: Oversee show activities, organization, and costs, and make adjustments as needed.
  8. Stakeholder Management: Oversee and maintain key relationships with venues, government departments, associations, vendors, partners, hotels, and travel agents.
  9. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operations.
  10. Communication: Effectively communicate internally and externally to build strong morale and corporate brand.

Requirements:

  1. Driven and capable of proactively setting and exceeding objectives with a goal-focused mindset.
  2. Chinese/Mandarin written and spoken proficiency to liaise with clients overseas.
  3. Manage budgets and meticulously oversee spending in all areas of the event.
  4. Able to travel domestically and internationally.
  5. Being highly organized with meticulous attention to detail is crucial for managing all aspects of operations.
  6. Senior-level communication skills and excellent negotiation abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  7. A problem solver, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities.
  8. Capable of assuming full operational responsibility for events in regions such as China, India, or other parts of Asia.
  9. Ability to work in a matrix environment and with global teams.
  10. Experience managing operations and contractors for expos in China, India, Thailand, or Singapore.
  11. Minimum 8 years working experience. Proven experience in managing teams and projects.
