As Trade Compliance Manager you will be responsible for global trade compliance projects, work with related software systems, perform audits, handle customs requests, work with Customs Brokers/FF/3PL, and consult and train on import and export related topics.

You will be accountable to:

  • Regularly monitor government laws and regulations for changes, which may affect the business

You will get your hand on the following exciting tasks:

  • Interpret and provide guidance to business units on the applicability and implementation of regulations, escalating to the Head of Global Trade Compliance, if necessary. Also, you will provide feedback and guidance to business units, including import compliance advice, training, and keeping the organization updated on the changing compliance landscape.
  • Determine potential financial liability and trade compliance risk associated with any identified issue and ensure correction and/or disclosure to the proper government agency on a timely basis under the direction of the Global Trade Compliance manager.

  • You will determine the frequency and quantity of transactions to test based on risk and/or results of previous review findings.
  • Based on findings of internal reviews, recommend corrective actions and policy changes to management and operations teams.
  • You will assess documentation relating to supplier and product eligibility for reduction or elimination of duties resulting from Free Trade Agreements or other trade programs. Maintain required records and periodic review supplier and product eligibility.

Further you will:

  • Coordinate with business units to ensure, based on eligibility, customs clearance is processed under the proper trade programs and proper documentation and certification is in place

  • Assist in gathering and maintaining data related to import activities from Customs, Operations, and internal systems
  • Perform data analysis, outline trends, and spot inconsistencies. Based on the analysis results, work closely with the organization on problem resolution and strategic changes related to import compliance
  • Publish and/or maintain KPIs, business dashboards, and reports.
  • Actively pursue ongoing educational opportunities to keep abreast of legal and regulatory changes

Criteria of success:
