Coordinate and prioritise the projects and workload of the department, to ensure projects are fabricated accurately according to time schedules
Diagnose machine and tooling equipment malfunctions, as well as to expedite and coordinate repairs or replacement to avoid excessive downtime
Coach and support the development of the team, and provide guidance in solving toolmaking issues
Coordinate inspection and quality control activities to meet Health and Safety requirements, and to ensure the toolroom remains operational and efficient to meet project requirements
Maintain all critical documentation needed for the toolroom operations, and provide oversight and advice to Tooling Manager on machine acquisition, replacement and equipment repairs
Collaborate and work closely with external vendors to obtain competitive quotes and timely delivery of purchased parts with required workmanship
Contribute actively to continuously improve the tool room efficiency and standards
Requirements:
Higher Nitec, Diploma or Degree in precision engineering/mechanical engineering is necessary
Familiar with ISO 9001, 14001, 13485 audit documentations related to tooling
Basic understanding of mold fabrication is required
Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Strong organisational skills with a can-do attitude to learn and initiate new ways of working to achieve results
Good collaboration skills to work as a team and across teams, to problem solve to achieve desired results
