Primary responsibility is to prepare test & qualification design activities in accordance to ESG design process with focus on quick turn-around time to respond to RFQs and Sales Orders. The job scope will cover the development of the test plan/documents, creation and execution of the test procedures for new opto-mechanical assembly products at the FAT phase prior to transferring these activities to the Process Engineering (PE) team for production manufacturing.
Design and perform qualification to the Test setup intended for the FAT Build.
Provide technical support to production on the maintenance of the relevant test equipment as well as for improvement programs (such as yield, efficiency, etc.) on the test procedure and setup.
Collect and analyze test data, summarize results, and present test results for review with internal and external customers.
Ensure proper test documentation (design reports, test plans and results, etc.), life cycle and data management in Product Data Management (PDM) system.
Support Operations as a technical resource on product design failure analysis and resolution support. Represent the R&D team for testing during all engineering builds and production ramp-ups.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Prerequisites
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering or related technical field. Candidates with a BSc or MSc in Optical Engineering/Optics, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent are preferred.
Minimum of 2 years experience required in Optics Testing related applications. Candidates applying for a Senior Engineer position will require a minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
Good knowledge of optical engineering and optical testing principles.
Hands-on experience with mounting and alignment of optical components required.
Capability to design test tooling and setup required.
Analytical ability to troubleshoot problems, perform root cause analysis and generate solutions.
Proficient in data collection, statistical analysis and report generation required; use of six sigma principles to solve problems preferred.
Candidates with proficiency in Zemax or Code V are preferred.
Candidates with Solidworks or AutoCAD experience are preferred.
Candidates with Quality Standards (such as ISO9001, ISO14001, AS9100, ISO13485) knowledge and audit experience are preferred.
Good organizational and communication skills required.
