Act as the Leader on all SHE aspects in the terminal; provide SHE leadership and direction to the terminal
Drive the implementation of the SHE plans and management systems within his department and the terminal
Monitor the progress of the terminal’s SHE initiatives and Must-Win-Battles (MWBs) implementation
Conduct periodic reviews to ensure that SHE plans remain relevant and on target
Perform the role of validator for workplace inspection reports
Monitor the terminal’s SHE performance and drive for improvements. Ensure timely consolidation and submission of SHE KPIs
Manage the occupational health & industrial hygiene programs in the terminals
Ensure a positive & proactive safety culture is maintained in the terminal through the organization of appropriate safety culture programs
Maintain a high level of preparedness for SHE emergencies; ensures drills / exercises are conducted as planned and emergency equipment ready for deployment
Manage and monitor the terminal SHE resources such as budget, personal protective equipment and permit-to-work stocks
Ensure compliance to all statutory safety, health, environment and security requirements through updates, reviews and audits
Take action to improve regulatory SHE performance and resolve non-compliances
Oversee and manage the terminal’s risk management process through conducting risk assessments and reviews
Ensure that the appropriate risk assessment procedures are followed
Ensure that all actions identified through these assessments and reviews are duly closed
Support the planned SHE audits and reviews
Ensure that all improvements identified from incidents, workplace inspections, near-misses and audits are duly completed
Drive other SHE Improvement initiatives for continual improvements in safety and operational performance
Support the sustainability initiatives in the terminal, including monitoring energy efficiency and encouraging initiatives to improve improvements in energy efficiency
Act as the sole point of contact with SHE-related government agencies and mutual aid companies
Drive internal stakeholders’ alignment before engaging external parties on strategic matters
Build stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
Manage, motivate and develop terminal staff and contractors in all SHE aspects
Lead the terminal SHE department to ensure a high level of performance through mentoring and coaching
Requirements:
At least 8 to 10 years of safety, health and environmental management experience with at least 3 years in a management position
Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Safety, Health and Environment management
Preferably with WSH Level C or above certification
Have thorough understanding of Singapore safety regulations including WSH Acts, Regulations and Standards and regulatory process; the ability to research, analyze, interpret and implement HSE regulations, standards, and best practices
