This position reports to

Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. The work model for the role is: onsite. This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution, Digital Solutions in Singapore.

You will be mainly accountable for:

1. Responsible for technical, commercial & contractual part of Digital solutions bids for the Digital Systems Center, review customer specifications/drawings to ensure quote is technically compliant and competitive.
2. Manage the preparation of all technical (e.g., defining the most suitable technology and product type) and necessary risk analysis associated with the bid.
3. Prepare on time the commercial offer optimizing the solutions, minimizing the risks and meeting customer expectations to overtake competition. Consider all aspects of the offer: technical proposal, purchasing, all contractual aspects, control risks, commercial environment, cash flow etc. and submit offer completely and on time.
4. You may be required to directly interact with customers (internal and external) and sometimes the sales team and provide them with the necessary technical information as well as work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects ensuring quality, timely implementation within the targeted cost.
5. Follow up on outstanding offers with the DSC, improve solution development process and measure effectiveness. Coordinate with relevant functions to ensure the designs are appropriately manufactured/staged, tested, installed and commissioned.
6. Monitor and review the performance of the tendering process through preassigned KPIs. Monitor margin deviation (vs. Validated). Regularly report the status of the bids/estimates/quotations using defined tools.

Qualifications for the role

• Possess an engineering degree (Electrical, Electronics, Power Systems for example).
• Possess an enhanced knowledge of tendering procedure, commercial acumen and technical terms.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• 3-5 years of experience in tendering or proposal engineering for automation projects and familiar with SCADA and PLC Systems as well as industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, IEC61850 etc.).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
