Job description

What the role is:

Temporary Student Support Officer (Special Educational Needs) - (11.5 months)

What you will be working on:

Provide individualized support to students in managing challenging behaviours in school, including support management for meltdown.
Support the SEN team to implement behaviour intervention and learning support plans for students with SEN in collaboration with the academic team and other stakeholders.
Maintain records of student progress and interventions implemented.
Assist with organizing and implementing programmes for students with SEN.
Partner with the SEN team, academic team, and other stakeholders to create a supportive environment conducive to the success of students with SEN.

What we are looking for:

Relevant qualification in Inclusive and Special Education, Education, Psychology, Applied or Educational Psychology, Counselling and/or relevant areas.
At least 3 years of experience supporting students with SEN, preferably in an educational or social service sector setting.
Passion and disposition to care for and work with students with SEN.
Resourceful and good problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and collaboratively with different stakeholders in student support.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written), and administrative skills.
IT proficiency in data management, with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience in facilitating workshops and events management would be an advantage.
