Technical Team Lead, Digital Learning Capability Centre (DLCC)

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

SUTD Academy Digital Learning Capability Centre (DLCC) is set up topower up CET Training & learning by developing new cyber-physical digital capabilitiesfor the Continuing Education and Training (CET) sector. We are looking for a technical team lead to join our team that involves the development and testing of new cyber-physical solutions that will be closely integrated with CET activities, courses and programmes under SUTD Academy.

Job Scope:

  • Lead the reimagination and productization that integrates video streaming and voice-chat functionalities, ensuring product fit and scalability
  • Drive the strategic development of software that supports the automated, concurrent, operation of multiple devices, ensuring seamless integration with learning platforms and modern telecommunication tools
  • Refine user experience based on feedback from user studies, ensuring the product aligns with the evolving needs of the learners
  • Oversee, guide cross-functional teams, and provide technical expertise including hardware design, software development, and production, to iterate on the product’s hardware and software for large-scale deployment, ensuring that appropriate security and risk factors are considered
  • Lead efforts to enhance product adaptability for diverse learning environments, incorporating user feedback from pilot projects
  • Assist in conducting user studies, gathering data on product efficacy in real-world applications, and use this data to inform product iterations and improvements
  • Provide technical leadership in documenting product development processes, including hardware improvements, software updates, and user experience enhancements for a future-ready product roadmap
  • Coordinate with external commercial partners and internal engineering teams to optimize production processes and operation efficiencies
  • Assist to conduct cost analysis and create timelines for commercial scaling, ensuring a balance between cost efficiency and quality

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree with at least 5 years relevant experience / Diploma with at least 8 years relevant experience or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in leading product development preferably in the tech and education sectors.
  • Proven ability to drive full-stack and API development (Javascript, Python, Django, REST APIs) with a focus on building scalable and maintainable systems.
  • Expertise in hardware prototyping and integration, including working with microcontroller platforms (Arduino, RaspberryPi, etc.) and electronic systems, ensuring a seamless bridge between hardware and software.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and working with production teams to bring hardware products to market at scale, including CAD tool proficiency (Autodesk Fusion, Rhino, etc.).
  • Strong project management skills to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines, and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, reimagining product functionalities and features to cater to the CET sector's evolving needs, ensuring both technical excellence and market fit.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with internal stakeholders and external partners, including engineers, designers, educators, and manufacturers.
  • Proven trackrecord of problem-solving and innovation, with a strong drive to apply cutting-edge solutions to technical and educational challenges in the CET space.
