Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the technical management of assigned bulk carriers, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Monitor vessel performance, maintenance, and repair schedules to optimize fleet availability.
Conduct regular vessel inspections and ensure compliance with international maritime regulations.
Work closely with ship crews and technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Manage dry-docking and repair projects, coordinating with shipyards and service providers.
Control budgets and costs for vessel maintenance and repairs, ensuring financial efficiency.
Liaise with classification societies, flag states, and regulatory authorities on technical matters.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives in fleet operations.
Key Requirements:
Previous experience as a Chief Engineer on bulk carriers is required.
Shore-based experience in a technical management role is essential.
Strong knowledge of vessel maintenance, dry-docking, and repair processes.
Familiarity with international maritime regulations and classification requirements.
Proven ability to manage multiple vessels and work effectively with multinational teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure.
