Technical Service Specialist

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

1. Perform new customers and laboratory site inspections for new contract/ tender preparations and design for new installations.
2. Provide Level I and Level II service (complex service interventions requiring more than 4 hours of labor).
3. Installation of instruments, AbbottLink, and automation.
4. Perform IQOQ (Installation Qualification Operation Qualification) procedures during and after installation.
5. Assist with customer business reviews.
6. Schedule, perform, and document hardware and software updates (TSBs) requiring more than 2 hours.
7. Deliver basic customer operator introductory training post install or post hardware or software upgrade.
8. Perform basic technical coaching and training for Abbott Ambassadors.
9. Service Sales and Service Cost Management.
10. Spare Parts and inventory management.
11. Timely submitting and update reporting system (e.g. CMS Next).
12. Comply to Abbott Quality and Regulatory Compliance and policies.
13. Any other tasks assigned by management from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Diploma/ Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology/ Bioengineering or Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
2. 3-5 years' experience in Field Service Engineering from relevant industries such as diagnostics/medical device/ semiconductor etc.
3. Willing to be on rotational standby after work hours/ work overtime to resolve urgent service issues.
4. Successful engagement with customers, specifically key stakeholders and lab staff.
5. Excellent product and industry knowledge, experience and process skills of the business functions service delivery.
6. Ability to identify and drive resolution of issues, technical expert for product line responsibility.
7. Excellent communication skills, experience in use of analytical tools and software.
8. Coaching and training skills.
