Job description

We are in search of an adept and driven Technical Project Managerresponsible for overseeing research projects aimed at tackling problemstatements within the food, nutrition and consumer care industry andecosystem. This role encompasses project timeline management,resource allocation, and ensuring successful project outcomes inalignment with SIFBI's overarching research strategy and focus areas.We are seeking a well-rounded individual with a mix of projectmanagement expertise, industry knowledge, leadership capabilities,effective communication, and the ability to adapt to changingcircumstances while maintaining a focus on delivering high-qualityoutcomes. Job Description

  • Project Planning: Develop project plan, define scope,objectives, deliverables, and timelines in alignment with researchproblem statement.
  • Project Execution: Oversee different workstreamsacross the project, ensuring adherence to timelines, milestones,overall project objective and budget. Routinely review the progressof the project with the internal scientific team and industry oracademic collaborators.
  • Cross-functional coordination: Manage and coordinatethe project team consisting of the lead principalinvestigator/technical lead and research officers. Coach scientistson translating research findings to industry needs. Maintain closecommunication with:
    • Business Development team to ensure relevanceto industry needs
    • Corporate strategy team to maintain project relevance to SIFBI's research focus areas
    • Resource Management team for optimal budget utilisation
  • Project strategy: Comprehend the project technicalitiesto formulate the IP strategy, application opportunities andcommercialization strategy collaboratively with the scientific team.Innovate concepts and identify opportunities to transfer theplatform technology to industry or the ecosystem; present theseideas to potential industry partners.
  • Risk management: Conduct project risk assessment anddevelop mitigation strategies to minimise potential projectdisruptions or deviations. Exercise judgement to escalate riskswhen necessary.
  • Stakeholder management: Routinely engagestakeholders to gather project requirements, set expectations andprovide regular updates on project progress, milestones and deliverables.
  • Project reporting and maintenance of projectdocuments: Prepare and maintain routine project documents (e.g.project charter, project management plan) and reports on projectstatus, budget, updates with collaborators and risks.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in biochemical engineering, biotechnology, bio engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the R&D sector of the food, nutrition, consumer care or biotechnology industry, with a preference for candidates with project management experience.
  • Proficient in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and devising/implementing project plans.
  • Collaborative team player showcasing strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in cross-functional teams.
  • An adaptable individual with the ability to remainflexible in a dynamic work environment, adjusting plans andstrategies as needed.
  • Candidateswith PMP training would be considered favorably.
