What will you do as a Team Leader?

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for the smooth and safe execution of all operations and day-to-day activities in the terminal.

What do we expect from you as a Team Leader?

  1. 3-5 years of relevant terminal operations experience in a similar industry.
  2. At least 3 years’ experience as a Team Coordinator.
  3. At least NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process Technology.
  4. Wealth of hands-on knowledge of terminal operations and in-depth site-specific knowledge.
  5. In-depth knowledge of products, equipment, and a seasoned SHE expert.
  6. Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Your core responsibilities are:

  1. Lead the team in investigations, troubleshooting, and problem-solving of incidents and abnormal observations.
  2. Act as SMC (Site Main Controller) for emergencies arising during after office hours until the arrival of the Operations/Terminal manager.
  3. Lead team on process control, application, process recovery, and emergency response.
  4. Ensure reduction in Ship shore variance.
  5. Maintain and own the Terminal Inventory management system.
  6. Support coordination with the commissioning of Industrial plant turnaround & planned maintenance.
  7. Coordinate day-to-day permit to work.
  8. Support Terminal maintenance/out of service/in service inspections.
  9. Day-to-day compliance with VF and lead team members on compliance.
  10. Lead Team discipline & Mentor and coach team members.
  11. Initiate continuous improvement programs in terminal operations.
  12. Manage day-to-day manpower administration and planning, workflow scheduling, and inter-departmental communication to ensure safe, smooth, and efficient operations.
  13. Lead in effective shift briefings and ensure key management objectives are communicated in a timely manner.
  14. Ensure Shift team members are trained on the relevant mandatory training.
  15. Support communication in commissioning of new/old facilities prior to handing over to the Operations team.
  16. Support new projects and manage contractors and communication.
  17. Manage and prepare for all audits, e.g., customers, ISO, regulatory, THA, and safety audits.
  18. Ensure compliance with Terminal SHEQ and VF by Operations team and contractors (including 3rd party).
  19. Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements as a trained PFSO (Port Facility Security Officer), Working at Height supervisor, and Permit-to-Work approval.
  20. Compliance with local legislation and company’s standards.
  21. Manage relationships with internal and external customers.
  22. Deliver on customers' expectations and requirements in a timely manner.
  23. Participate in Operation Review.
  24. Address concerns from customers.
  25. Address enquiries from Internal/External customers on the services and manage expectations.
  26. Train and develop team members in operational competency.
  27. Train, coach, and guide Operations team members in performance improvements.
  28. Conduct staff performance review and appraisal.
  29. Ensure completion of staff JCP assessments & follow up on competency gap closures.
  30. Support ACE program as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) trainer.
  31. Manage and develop people to ensure a cohesive and motivated team.
  32. Lead & encourage the Team in a positive manner to adapt to changes in the company direction.
  33. Supervise, train, and coach technicians and contractors in activities relating to Operations work.
  34. Assist in talent and succession planning of the workforce.
  35. Manage, motivate, and develop staff in the terminal operations department (applicable to Team Leader).
