Team Lead, Student Health Coach (Virtual/WFH)

Job Summary:

Building on our successful Health Services track record, AKG is looking to hire Team Leaders to lead our growing teams.

The Team Lead will be responsible for leading a team of Health Coaches and also delivering personalised virtual coaching to encourage and motivate overweight / severely overweight students to make appropriate lifestyle changes and improve health outcomes.

Note: Projected start date will be April 2025. Health Coaches are expected to carry out coaching services between 9am to 9pm on weekdays, including Saturdays.

Team Management:

• Ensure team KPIs (i.e. content coverage, documentation and service standards) are met, providing coaching and mentoring to Health Coaches on a regular basis
• Management of team workload including assigning of students, balancing of caseloads, leave approvals, absence coverage plans, etc.
• Handle any escalations, complaints and incidents in a timely and effective manner
• Provide weekly reporting to management

Health Coaching:

• Deliver a series of health coaching sessions to students from diverse backgrounds to help them achieve better health outcomes especially in terms of weight management
• Ensure that key content is covered and that all performance standards (e.g. service standards, coaching duration, etc.) are met for every coaching session
• Establish and maintain high-trust relationships with programme participants and relevant stakeholders
• Influence and equip participants with the necessary skills, tools and knowledge to define, achieve and exceed their health goals
• Provide bespoke advice and recommendations to overcome barriers and challenges, and encourage participants to take up longer-term health coaching programmes to sustain results
• Adhere to all AKG values and represent our business in a professional manner at all times
• Maintain knowledge and coaching content in line with changes in the field and to the highest standards

Administration & Quality Management:

• Adhere to AKG, Project and Government guidelines, policies and procedures at all times
• Ensure details of all outreach attempts and coaching sessions are properly recorded and updated on IT systems
• Provide accurate and timely reporting on all relevant activities
• Maintain strict confidentiality of client information in accordance to PDPA requirements

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of team leadership experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service via face-to-face or non-face-to-face methods of a similar nature

Role Skill and Knowledge Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Counselling / Coaching, Nutrition, Sport Science, Psychology or any related fields
• Proven ability in team management and coaching of staff members
• Keen interest in health & wellness and able to relate to school-going students / parents
• Passionate about working with youths, children and parents
• Ability to demonstrate a high level of empathy and respect when working with clients, with a proven track record in influencing people to achieve better health outcomes for themselves
• Skilled at establishing trust and rapport, identifying unique barriers / challenges and providing bespoke advice and recommendations
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong negotiation and time management skills
• Articulate in English, and fluent in an additional Mother Tongue (including Malay, Mandarin or Tamil) and / or dialects
• Proficiency in MS Office (including MS Teams) and other digital tools / applications as required
