Position Overview
Details of the Division and Team: Working across domain at Team and tribe level, you will collaborate with teams, focusing on all stakeholder value. You will enable an agile culture, building cohesive team dynamics while fostering trust and collaboration across team members; safe to challenge, experiment and fail without fear, with delivered outcomes at the highest quality.
With in-depth and real-world experience, you will coach people and the organization to surface their biggest impediments preventing an environment in which agility can thrive. Helping the group to relate and connect their actions to culture, including how the approach to agile processes and tools impacts high performance. This includes the impact and effective use of governance and metrics.
As an Agile Practitioner (Scrum Master), you will need to be highly motivated as you guide and support the new Agile teams. You will control the processes that the teams engage with on a day-to-day basis, across multiple locations.
Working alongside the Product Owner, you will need to motivate your team with proven leadership skills, ensuring that the teams operate effective Agile methodologies.
We expect our Scrum Masters to be servant leaders and passionate about continuous improvement, enabling our teams to deliver resilient software of the highest quality. Hence, you should have advanced hands-on experience working with agile software development teams and have profound insights on agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LESS), especially with a focus on scaling agile teams in a global enterprise environment.
Finally, we expect you to help us drive our bank's agile transformation journey and become a key driver for the Corporate Bank division.
Your key responsibilities:
- Act as a servant leader to the Scrum team, facilitating Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective).
- Work closely with Product Owners to ensure that product backlogs are well-defined, prioritized, and clear.
- Track and report on team progress, velocity, and sprint health to ensure transparency and alignment with organizational goals.
- Accountable for establishing Scrum on team level and scaling our agile setup on enterprise level.
- Remove any impediments that may hinder the team’s progress and help resolve conflicts or issues that arise.
- Manage dependencies across multiple inter-related projects/products, managing and reporting status of product roadmap and/or project status, RAID, and financial information to support effective decision making.
- Develop project/product & change artefacts during the change lifecycle, e.g., scope, business case, communication, change management, and/or training plans, materials and overseeing/monitoring the execution to ensure adoption and minimal disruption of normal business operations.
- Provide training/mentoring where applicable on various methodologies, including change management, agile, process re-engineering.
- Enable the team to actively own and surface dependencies and risks or escalate in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the Team’s effectiveness, coaching an improvement culture by focusing on continuous improvements, visualizing and measuring team flow, ensuring impediments to the team are quickly removed.
- Surface team metrics and help the team understand their metrics and self-reflect and experiment.
- Support/Coach the product owner and backlog.
- Ability to coach and mentor team members as well as stakeholders, remove obstacles and emphasize teamwork.
- Demonstrate a personal growth mindset - lifelong learning, continuous self-improvement, and the ability to always adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Encourage a psychologically safe environment for the team.
Your skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 4 years Scrum Master experience in a Software Driven environment in Banking or a similarly regulated environment.
- Working experience in Agile Framework such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or LeSS.
- Working experience using collaboration tools such as JIRA, JQL, Confluence, GIT, etc.
- Knowledge of Payment Products specific to Instant Payments.
- Scrum Master Certifications such as CSM, PSM, CSP, SSM, or ACP.
- Proven experience as both Agile Coach & Scrum Master in coaching, teaching and mentoring.
- Working experience in other Agile approaches such as Kanban, XP, etc.
- Experience of scaling agility with multiple globally distributed teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
