Systems Engineer/Senior Systems Engineer (Information Technology), BII

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to support the institute’s IT infrastructure and operations. The candidate will provide level 2 and level 3 support for IT services, assist with new setups, as well as review and implementation security and compliance measures.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in computer-related studies
• At least 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience
• Strong knowledge in servers and hardware technology
• Experience with open-source software packages and IT infrastructure services
• Good understanding of best practices and cybersecurity concepts
• Experience or strong knowledge in Linux system administration, scripting, storage, and security
• Experience with Virtualization and Containerization
• Knowledge in networking, firewalls, and routing
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good to Have

• Familiarity with local scientific research environment.
• Experience with computational clusters (e.g., SLURM).
• Familiarity with Linux-based scientific tools and software.
• Experience with automation tools like Ansible or similar.
