System Engineer (Network)

We are working with a leading firm in Asia with a global network. As part of their continued growth, Charterhouse has been engaged to search for a Network System Engineer.

The System Engineer will implement and maintain CII networks and supporting internal communication systems.

Responsibilities:

• Engineer, design and deploy Operation Technology (OT)/IT optical networks services and solutions including DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing), ODN (Optical Digital Network), and PABx (Telephony) for tunnels and substations.
• Identify improvement opportunities in the maintenance process of existing systems for better efficiency and quality.
• Develop infrastructure network observability strategic roadmaps, configure monitoring metrics, and trending based on business and technical requirements.
• Ensure infrastructure adheres to company policy and standards and is compliant with CSA act.
• Identify, recommend, and lead continuous network infrastructure improvement efforts by using tools to monitor the environment.
• Support projects related to all infrastructure components including data centre consolidation, migration, collocation, network upgrade, and expansion.
• Manage vendors that are supporting the environment.

Requirements:

To qualify, individuals must possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/IT or related field with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• CCNA or CCNP certified; CISSP will be an advantage.
• Proficient in various brands of firewalls (e.g., Checkpoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto) and monitoring tools.
• Proven competency in supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting for areas in:
• Layer 2 and 3 Switching and Routing
• Firewalls management
• DWDM, ODN, and PABx
• Understanding of ITIL processes and ISO27001 processes.
