SVP/VP, Operational Risk Platform & Data Team Head, Risk Management Group

Business Function
Risk Management Group (RMG) develops and maintains the Bank's risk management and internal control frameworks. We provide independent review and challenge to the business units to ensure a proper balance between risk and return in decision-making. RMG also monitors and reports on key risk issues of the Bank. Responsibilities

• Leading the strategy, architecture, and implementation of our ORM system and data infrastructure.
• Bridge between the module/product owners and data scientists/technology partners to oversee enhancement requests and user/production support using Agile methodology.
• Lead discussions with stakeholders to understand business priorities/challenges and translate them into data initiatives to enable the Operational Risk function to achieve its KPI deliverables and enhance identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of operational risks.
• Develop and co-ordinate the unit’s KPIs, track and report progress.
• Co-ordinate with units to prepare updates including internal business/risk reviews, regulator’s meetings, questionnaires, etc.
• Work with operational risk controllers regionally to perform analyses of operational risk data to generate insights for the Board and senior management.

Requirements

• University degree with major study in Finance, Statistics, Accounting, Business Management or related quantitative disciplines.
• 10-15 years of working experience in financial institutions. Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining system workflow/workbench is a plus.
• Experience in first, second or third line and familiar with operational risk management concepts and tools.
• Analytical and able to identify key themes and trends from data and information for solutioning, with ability to holistically consider upstream and downstream impact.
• Leadership and people management skills.
• Confident, articulate and persuasive speaker with excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate with people of different seniorities.
• Self-motivated individual with positive attitude to challenge status quo and explore opportunities for improvement.
• Keen interest in Operational Risk Management, risk culture, new technologies and data analytics.
• Good knowledge of banking products and processes and operations.
