Job description

Job Summary:
The Lead Demand & Supply Planner plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the demand and supply planning process, ensuring that the right products are available at the right time while maintaining cost efficiency. This role is integral to the S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process and involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to align demand forecasts with supply chain capabilities. The position requires a strategic approach to balancing supply and demand while minimizing excess inventory and stockouts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Demand Planning: Lead the demand planning process by analyzing sales data, market trends, and customer insights to generate accurate demand forecasts.
  2. S&OP Process: Actively participate in the S&OP process, collaborating with sales, operations, and finance teams to align forecasted demand with supply capabilities, production schedules, and inventory levels.
  3. Supply Planning: Develop and manage supply plans to ensure timely and efficient product delivery. Optimize inventory levels, working closely with production and procurement teams to meet demand without overstocking.
  4. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels across various locations, ensuring that stock levels are optimized to support demand fluctuations while avoiding stockouts or excess inventory.
  5. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, marketing, procurement, and production teams to align on demand forecasts, inventory strategies, and the supply plan.
  6. Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and manage any disruptions in the supply chain.
  7. Reporting and Analytics: Provide regular reports on inventory levels, demand forecasts, and supply chain performance. Utilize data-driven insights to support decision-making and optimize supply chain processes.
  8. Problem Solving: Address supply chain challenges, such as sudden demand changes or supplier delays, by developing contingency plans and mitigating potential risks.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve the planning process, leveraging technology, best practices, and process optimizations to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in demand and supply planning, inventory management, and participation in the S&OP process.
  3. Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  4. Proficiency in planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Excel) and demand forecasting tools.
  5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  6. A proactive, results-oriented approach to managing the supply chain and inventory management.
  7. Knowledge of best practices in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), including forecasting, inventory optimization, and demand-supply alignment.
