Sub-Editor, Shin Min Daily News

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Sub-Editor to join the team. As a Sub-Editor, you are responsible for:

1. Writing story headlines, as well as editing headlines and content for social media and online news.
2. Designing, preparing and completing layouts for print.
3. Ensuring factual accuracy, as well as alignment of style of final copies to the publication’s standards.
4. Working closely with reporters to coordinate and curate content.

Requirements:

1. Degree in relevant studies; relevant experience would be advantageous.
2. Effectively bilingual (both written and spoken) in English and Chinese as this role is for a Chinese publication.
3. Strong interest and in-depth knowledge of news and current affairs.
4. A meticulous team player with a strong sense of responsibility.
5. Strong analytical skills with an inquisitive nature.
6. 5-day work week (5 hours a day).
