The Strategy and Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the organizations learning products and operations, with a strong emphasis on strategy formulation and market analysis. This position involves conducting feasibility studies to assess market share and demand for our courses, ensuring our offerings align with industry needs. The manager will actively engage in market research to develop robust business strategies that drive growth.

In addition to supporting internal trainings, the role focuses on actively marketing our courses externally, creating effective marketing strategies, and identifying new sales leads. Building and maintaining relationships with partners and clients is essential, keeping them informed about new products and negotiating favorable business deals. The manager will also lead efforts to secure funding opportunities, attend industry events for networking, manage resources efficiently, and ensure both financial and operational performance are met. This multifaceted role is pivotal in shaping the future of our adult education initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Market Research & Strategy

  • Analyze industry trends, review impact of policy changes, assess market position and identify opportunities for business expansions.
  • Assess client needs for organisation's learning products and services. Conduct target customer profile review.
  • Develop effective business and marketing strategies and policies based on business goals.

Sales & Partnerships

  • Map opportunities and define engagement plans, manage the sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure, building effective customer relationships, and suitable positioning of offerings (via suitable marketing and sales channels).
  • Lead sales engagements and negotiate business deals.
  • Establish strong partnerships within industry and cross functionally to tap on wealth of capability within the agency in the realization of solutions and offerings.

Marketing Management

  • Design and implement marketing strategies across platforms, evaluating positioning and messaging and managing content creation.

Funding & Budget Management

  • Identify funding opportunities, create funding applications, and manage budgets for our product portfolio.

Learning Operations

  • Plan and manage learning schedules, logistics, and resources to ensure smooth delivery of programs. Champion and leverage a variety of tools to manage the process and delivery of online and blended programmes.
  • Set out record and database management processes.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and cross-functional teams to drive collaboration.

Candidate Profile:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years of commercial business development experience in the training solutions space and well versed with the adult education landscape.
  • Strong English proficiency (written and spoken).
  • Excellent project management skills and experience in stakeholder management.
  • Ability to conduct independent research and present data effectively.
  • Passionate about knowledge sharing and capability development.
  • Candidates with experience in social services will have an advantage.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g. Sales Force, etc) and web-based marketing is a plus.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and experimentation, with an inclination for collaboration and nurturing relationships.
