My client is hiring its first Singapore-based strategic lead to manage key partnerships across government bodies, academic institutions, and major engineering or manufacturing companies while coordinating closely with China's office. This role acts as a key account manager, driving existing projects and navigating complex geopolitical and regulatory landscapes to advance my client's initiatives in the region.

Description

1. Develop and manage strategic relationships with government agencies, academic institutions, and industry leaders.
2. Oversee existing projects and expand the organisation's influence in Singapore and the broader APAC region.
3. Work closely with their long-standing China's office while navigating the geopolitical sensitivities between China and the US.
4. Ensure compliance with regional policies and regulations, facilitating smooth operations and partnerships.
5. Represent the organisation in industry events, conferences, and high-level discussions to enhance its presence.

Profile

1. Experience in a large multinational engineering company with a global footprint.
2. Master's degree preferably in engineering, public policy, or business.
3. Strong network and prior engagement with government agencies, academia, and industry organisations.
4. Familiarity with international regulations, trade policies, and geopolitical considerations, particularly in US-China relations.
5. Ability to operate in a non-profit or professional start-up environment, balancing commercial and strategic interests.
