About Our Client
Our client is a renowned player in the water treatment and disinfection space, providing advanced electrochemical and filtration technologies for municipal water utilities, industrial facilities, power plants, and the oil & gas sector. They would like to identify a Strategic Commercial Director for the Asia region, to spearhead the growth of their business, tapping into untapped markets, such as new industry verticals and additional countries of interest. Though it sits with sales, this role is going to be much more than that - strategically identifying areas of growth, methodically targeting gaps in current business situations, formulating and executing a strategic Go-To-Market plan for the Asia region.


Job Description
This is a high-impact, strategic leadership role responsible for driving business growth, market expansion, and sales excellence across the municipal, industrial, power, and oil & gas sectors in Asia. The Strategic Commercial Director will lead regional sales and aftermarket strategies, identifying untapped markets, new industry verticals, and additional countries of interest. This role goes beyond sales - it requires strategic planning, market intelligence, and execution of a robust Go-To-Market strategy to expand the company’s footprint in Asia.


  • Develop and execute a Go-To-Market strategy, identify new markets, industry verticals, and partnerships, and refine strategies through competitive analysis.
  • Leadership & Team Development - Build and mentor a regional sales team, foster a high-performance culture, and align cross-functional teams with business objectives.
  • Aftermarket & Installed Base Growth - Expand aftermarket sales, engage the installed customer base, and drive long-term service revenue across the region.
  • Stakeholder & Customer Engagement - Strengthen relationships with municipal officials, EPCs, and industry leaders, enhance brand presence at events, and align sales with internal teams.

The Successful Applicant

  • 15+ years of experience in strategic sales, business development, and commercial leadership in the water/wastewater industrial equipment sector.
  • Experience dealing with capital projects deals, such as those for industrial, power, oil and gas clients, as well as municipal projects.
  • Equipment sector, and non-chemical related industry experience.
  • Proven track record of strategic GTM, expanding into new markets and industry verticals.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with experience leading both direct and channel sales teams.
  • Knowledge of filtration, disinfection, and water treatment technologies on a capital project scale.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage C-suite stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to travel.
