Store Manager

The Store Manager is responsible for the overall store management by efficiently leading a team and ensuring smooth operations to optimize sales and deliver outstanding customer service.

Your main aim will be to bring great experience to customers and passionately inspire customer loyalty to Sephora, aiming to fulfill Sephora Vision. You will also be expected to diligently execute store operations, provide support and feedback to Beauty Advisors to deliver store performance targets, sales, and conversion rates while fulfilling operational duties.

Your main aim will be to meet or exceed store sales and profit targets, managing all resources within the store to provide customers with a leading shopping experience by acting as a Sephora Ambassador and consistently exhibiting the Company Attitude and Values. You will also be expected to drive the proper execution of established policies, procedures, initiatives, and directives.

People Management

  • Involving in the recruitment of store team together with HR team
  • Maintaining employee turnover and absenteeism

Train and Develop

  • Ensuring all new joiners are well-trained and integrated into the environment
  • Working with the Training team on training plans and objectives for the store team
  • Coordinating training schedules and following up with the Training team
  • Developing individual career paths for the store team

Performance Management

  • Working with Head of Retail on individual and store objectives / KPIs
  • Conducting individual performance reviews with the Store team
  • Providing constructive feedback and coaching to the team for improvement
  • Proposing internal promotions and transfers when necessary

Organize and Animate

  • Conducting the store team briefing every shift
  • Planning a well-organized store roster according to daily traffic and sales trends, optimizing team resources
  • Ensuring that the team’s grooming and behavior are according to the store’s SOP
  • Working with the HR team on any disciplinary issue
  • Demonstrating the Sephora DNA to inspire and motivate the team
  • Creating a pleasant and exciting environment with great team spirit

Sales & Sales Floor Management

Drive Sales

  • Responsible for daily store operations, achieving store sales and profitability, and ensuring every customer receives a great service experience
  • Setting and communicating the KPIs to the team during the daily briefing
  • Communicating to the team on hourly sales achievements and taking prompt action to achieve final goals when necessary
  • Ensuring that the team is aware of all the brand promotions, mechanics, and incentives
  • Ensuring that complimentary gift wrapping services are introduced, key product launches, and initiatives are fully supported
  • Being operationally hands-on, working with the team on the sales floor to achieve KPIs set

Optimize Store Profitability

  • Keeping abreast of direct competitors' promotional activities and proposing action plans to the Head of Retail
  • Analyzing sales, KPIs, and store activity, and proposing action plans on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Being accountable for cost management
  • Monitoring the store Profit and Loss closely

Customer Service

  • Building and nurturing a strong relationship with loyal customers
  • Constantly focusing on new members recruitment (CRM) to achieve the KPIs set
  • Coordinating with HQ CRM team to ensure smooth implementation of Sephora’s CRM operations and policies
  • Managing and resolving any customer feedback
  • Maintaining a high level of motivation and ensuring the team is dedicated to offering the best customer service

Operations

  • Ensuring the legal and financial integrity of the store
  • Ensuring proper in-store Sephora executions according to established standards and directives
  • Managing all store operations in a systematic and efficient manner, as per established policies and procedures
  • Ensuring merchandise deliveries are processed on the same day they arrive and the store’s entire product offer is made immediately available and easily accessible to customers on a consistent basis
  • Ensuring cash register transactions are processed quickly and accurately
  • Leading and implementing all applicable loss prevention policies and procedures
  • Maintaining a safe and productive shopping and working environment

Merchandising

  • Ensuring that the store is in good condition, i.e., shelves are replenished, fixtures are clean, testers and prices are present in good condition
  • Ensuring that the merchandising guidelines and planograms are followed according to the Merchandising Book and requirements

Stock Management

  • Monitoring the stock inventory process to minimize shrinkage and accuracy in stock management; stock room is according to Sephora’s guidelines and standards
  • Liaising with the Supply Chain team on any stock issues

Cash Management

  • Training staff and enforcing Sephora’s cash handling and shortage prevention procedures
  • Ensuring that store funds and deposits are maintained in accordance with Sephora’s policies

We would love to hear from you if you have…

  • 6 years’ experience in store operations or sales management of which 3 years in leading and developing a team
  • Experience in retail, FMCG, or hospitality industry is preferred
  • Good analytical skills with an eye for detail
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Service-oriented with great passion for the retail industry
  • Proficient in MS Office
