Job Description
We are seeking a Sr. Technical/Business Development Consultant with 15+ years of experience in LNG and green fuels to drive business expansion in Southeast Asia. This is a senior role reporting directly to the Head of LNG and Green Fuels - SEA, with a focus on client-facing activities. The role requires a mix of technical expertise and business acumen to identify opportunities, build relationships with developers, operators, and financiers, and close strategic deals. The ideal candidate will have a strong network in the region, deep industry knowledge, and a proven track record in business development, playing a key role in shaping the organization’s growth in sustainable energy markets.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in the LNG, Oil & Gas (O&G) and Green Fuels industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering + (MBA is a plus)
BD Skills:
- Demonstrated success in client acquisition, proposal development, and closing sales in the energy sector in South East Asia.
- Strong networking capabilities with a proven ability to establish and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Track record of expanding market presence and identifying new opportunities to drive business growth.
- Effective communication and presentation skills to convey AFRY's value proposition to clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to organize and host meetings, webinars, and workshops to generate leads and promote AFRY’s services.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in developing Feasibility, Technical Due Diligence, and Conceptual design reports.
- Deep knowledge of developing Proposals and presentations.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for LNG and green fuels.
Responsibilities:
Business Development (60%-70% of total time) in SEA mainly
Client Acquisition & Engagement:
- Identify, approach, and secure new clients in LNG, FLNG, and green fuels markets.
- Proactively engage with stakeholders in the energy sector, including investors, developers, operators, and regulators.
Market Expansion:
- Develop strategies to position AFRY as a leader in the LNG and green fuels domain.
- Increase awareness of AFRY's services by conducting presentations, webinars, and hosting client workshops.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients by addressing their challenges and delivering tailored solutions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Proposal Development & Sales:
- Lead the preparation of technical-commercial proposals, including cost estimation, scope definition, and timelines.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with clients and partners to close deals successfully.
Networking & Awareness:
- Represent AFRY at industry events, conferences, and forums to showcase expertise and promote the company's offerings.
- Establish partnerships and collaborations with other organizations to enhance presence in emerging markets.
Strategic Insights & Reporting:
- Identify industry trends, client needs, and market opportunities to align AFRY’s services with demand.
- Regularly update senior leadership with progress reports, sales forecasts, and client feedback.
Technical Responsibilities (30%-40% of total time):
- Good knowledge of industry standards and practices related to process design and safety.
- Developing feasibility reports, technical due diligence, and commercial tasks such as FM, etc.
- Willingness to work with Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia (Power-to-X) Projects.
Experience in reputed Engineering firms or International Consulting firms shall be preferred.
