As a Senior Sales Executive - IT your focus is on selling technology solutions, services, or products, such as software, hardware, cloud services, cyber services and IT consulting.

This role involves understanding client needs, positioning relevant technology solutions, and driving revenue growth for the company.

Below is a detailed job scope:

Sales Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to the IT industry, focusing on key technology solutions like software, hardware, cloud services, cyber services or managed IT services.
  • Identify target markets, customer segments, and potential business opportunities in the IT sector.
  • Set sales goals and targets for IT products/services, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by acquiring new clients and expanding existing relationships.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers (e.g., CIOs, CTOs) in client organizations.
  • Conduct meetings, presentations, and demonstrations to showcase the value and ROI of IT products or services.

Technical Knowledge & Solution Selling

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s IT offerings, including software solutions, hardware products, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure.
  • Understand customer requirements and present tailored IT solutions that address business challenges.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to deliver solutions that meet the specific needs of clients.

Sales Pipeline Management

  • Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, from lead generation to closing deals, using CRM tools.
  • Track and manage sales metrics, forecasts, and opportunities to ensure sales goals are met or exceeded.
  • Prepare and submit proposals, negotiate contracts, and close high-value IT deals.

Market Research & Competitor Analysis

  • Stay updated on the latest IT trends, emerging technologies, and industry developments.
  • Analyze competitor products, pricing strategies, and sales tactics to refine the company's sales approach.
  • Provide insights on market needs and opportunities to drive product innovation and development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop campaigns that support IT sales initiatives.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless integration of IT solutions and services into client environments.
  • Coordinate with customer support and account management teams to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

Contract Negotiation & Closing

  • Lead the negotiation of contracts, pricing, and terms of agreement for IT services and products.
  • Manage the legal and contractual aspects of sales deals, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Close high-value IT sales deals and ensure successful delivery of products and services.

Revenue & Profit Growth

  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for IT products and services.
  • Contribute to the company’s overall revenue growth by expanding sales in existing accounts and acquiring new clients.
  • Optimize sales profitability by managing pricing strategies and controlling sales expenses.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

  • Use CRM systems to manage customer data, track sales progress, and maintain an accurate sales pipeline.
  • Regularly update client information and track interactions to provide personalized and effective follow-ups.
  • Provide reports and updates to senior management on sales performance and market trends.

Training & Development

  • Stay current on the latest IT products, trends, and services through continuous learning and training.
  • Share industry knowledge with the sales team and help train junior sales executives on solution selling and industry best practices.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and webinars to network and stay updated on new IT innovations.

Customer Satisfaction & Post-Sales Support

  • Ensure a smooth post-sales process by coordinating with the delivery and technical support teams to implement IT solutions.
  • Manage customer expectations, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to the product or service post-sale.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare regular sales reports to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and track performance against targets.
  • Analyze sales data and customer feedback to refine strategies and improve the overall sales process.
  • Report sales results and market insights to senior leadership and contribute to overall business strategy discussions.
